About a week ago I found this awesome glitter polish from Depend Cosmetics and I knew that I just had to get it. Whenever Christmas approaches I feel a great need for wearing glitter nail polish, for some strange (or, wait, maybe not so strange...) reason. Here, the glitter polish is applied over Ancient Ruby by Isadora.
Yes, I know the manicure is terrible and I suck at taking pictures of nail polish. I can hear the sound of the "Clean-your-cuticles-or-die"-girls coming after me like an angry mob right now. Haha! :P
Depend #335 is a holographic glitter polish in a clear base, which makes it perfect to put on top of other polishes. This mani consists of 1 layer Nail Tek Foundation II, 2 coats of Ancient Ruby (Isadora), 1 coat #335 (Depend) and 1 coat of the fast-drying topcoat from Seche Vite.
What I didn't like about this polish though, was that there are both small and big chunks of glitter in the bottle but when applied on the nails you are lucky if you get one or two of the larger chunks there. I want my glitter chunks to be of different sizes.
So, dear readers, what do you think of glitter polishes? Do you have any favorites that you can recommend?
Thank you for reading! :)

The Beast
You might remember that I did a look inspired by Belle from "Beauty and the Beast" a while ago. I decided to bring this theme a step further and do a look inspired by the Beast as well. ;)
Unfortunately I had my usual problem with capturing the glitter on the photos so you will have to live with a less glittery version. Jikes, I really need to get better lamps...
Right now I really like to use gold eyeshadow underneath the brows to create a nice glow. :) This shadow is Bleached blonde by Makeup Geek. And for the blue; well, I didn't have one blue that covered all of my needs. I wanted one that is navy blue but in the same time bright and shimmery so I mixed Makeup Geek's Neptune with Deep truth by M.A.C.
Damn that glitter...
This is how glittery it is supposed to be! Almost anyway...
My Luscious Liquid Lipstick in Cherry tart was adorning my lips, although, I would have preferred a warm, dark caramel-golden color. I don't have such a lipstick though so red lips was my second choice. Don't mind the grumpy-face...
As usual, thanks a lot for reading and hope to see you soon! :)

Twinkle
This far I have used most of the Makeup Geek gel liners in different looks but there are a couple that I haven't tried out that thoroughly yet, so I thought I'd do that today. :) One of them is Twinkle which is a sparkly, gun metal color that actually is utterly pretty.
Many of the Makeup Geek gel liners work excellent as a primer (especially Rave!) but this one is definitely an exception. It creased like crazy (I'm pretty much convinced though that it wouldn't have done that, had I only added an actual primer underneath...).
But very well, as I said, it is a very pretty color and it almost looks like molten metal on the eyelids. :) Here, I've used the eyeshadow Galaxy (also by Makeup Geek) on top of it to set it and add more to the smoked out effect. In the inner part of the eye, right under the eyebrow I swept a soft layer of medium brown, to add some dimension.
I matched this eyemakeup with a dark, wine red lip. The lipstick I used for this look was Black orchid by Make Up Store. Whenever I use it I think that it has a very, very bad formula (but the color is gorgeous so I can't really help myself... :P ). It turns very blotchy on the lips after only ten minutes (maybe even less) and I don't know if I think that speckled lips is a very big hit...
Last but not least I thought I'd show you my hair that I decided to tease into a Robert Smith-style fluff. I actually liked this way of wearing my hair a lot!
