Tutorial: My birthday makeup

Hello everybody!

Well, today it is time for the tutorial of my birthday makeup, just as I promised you yesterday. :) I had a great birthday and got a lot of beautiful gifts! I got a several items from M.A.C. which I'm going to show you all later.

So, anyways, the makeup I did last spring which inspired me to this look is this one:

It looks like I've painted the eyebrow in Photoshop or something but I haven't! :O I have no idea how it can look like that but I'm guessing it had something to do with the settings for the saturation on my camera.

The pattern is actually inspired by this image from Deviantart:

So let's get this tutorial started!

Step 1
Start off by priming your eyes and lining your upper and lower waterline with a black eyeliner pencil.

Step 2
Draw the outline of the black shape with an eyeliner pencil. The line marks the highest point of the shape and you don't want to go outside it too far when blending!

Step 3
Fill the shape in with the black eyeliner pencil and blend out!

Step 4
To increase the blackness, pack on some black eyeshadow on top of the eyeliner pencil. Blend out the edges carefully. You don't want them to be too harsh but not too blended either. Also take the eyeshadow down underneath your lower lash line. Here you want it to be more blended!
Line your upper lash line with a black gel eyeliner.

Step 5
Put on your foundation and under eye concealer (your base).
With gel liner draw a line similar to the one I've drawn in the picture. You can also use liquid eyeliner, as I've done in the red-brow version of the makeup. Neither gel nor liquid eyeliner leaves much room for mistakes so if you're not sure of what you're doing it might be a good idea to draw the pattern with a white eyeliner pencil first.

Step 6
Draw to more lines, like this!

Step 7
Two more lines under the eye! The pattern begins to look a little bit complex now. :)

Step 8
Three lines above the eye, which are going to go "under" the brow.

Step 9
Some dots and the pattern is finished! :D

Step 10
This look would just not be complete without a pair of humongous falsies and a colorful brow! I painted my eyebrow with the lip pencil "Jazz" by Make Up Store. Just use whatever color you feel like.
The lashes I've used are from Stargazer and I think they're #16.

Step 11
For a more fun look match your lips with your eyebrows! :) Again I've used "Jazz" by Make Up Store and the lipstick "Black orchid" which is not black, but a nice dark burgundy. Love it!
I've also put some of the lipstick "Kharma" by Viva La Diva in the middle of the lip for a cool metallic effect.

And just another full face picture!
Have a nice day everybody! :D

  1. Wow - you do amazing makeup work! And you are so beautiful!! :)

In answer to your question over on my blog regarding the Gray theme, make-up posts would absolutely be welcome!! The posts don't have to be outfits. Mr. Kitty usually does a car-related post and I have a dear friend who does music posts for most of my themes. It's more interesting to see the many different ways that people can interpret a general concept. I am looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

    1. Thank you a lot for your kind comments! :)

Then I will gladly participate! :D I love to do makeup from a certain theme and the theme "Gray" is nice. Don't think I've ever done a gray makeup look before so it will be fun to try it out.
