Naked Goth (Not as naughty as it sounds)

Hey there! :D

After the third round of eye problems I feel better and can finally wear makeup again. I'm itching to start experimenting with different looks and bold colors again but today we had glossy-skin-nude-look theme day at work so I couldn't go too crazy this time. While I like the nude look on other people I hate to wear it myself. It makes me feel naked (which, I suppose, is the point...) and ugly and to be perfectly honest sometimes makes me feel a bit insecure. So I decided to combine it with a black lip, and voilá, the naked goth look.

If I don't feel to damn lazy tomorrow I will do a colorful, crazy look for you. Currently, I'm thinking about different colors to combine to get unusual but in the same time interesting looks. Any suggestions? :)

Monthly theme: Hosiery

I'm so happy I actually found the time to do this post because I love participating in the Monthly Theme at Sophistique Noir!

The theme this month was "hosiery" which might be a bit difficult to do a makeup blogpost on. Or is it?
Actually I got an idea for this theme in an instant and I was so excited about creating a look on it! :D

Since it's Halloween I figured I do a kind of fashion/mummy/goth/Halloween look with a torn pair of pantyhose. You could use fishnet tights or stocking if you'd like but I didn't have a pair at home (yes, really...) so I just used a pair of old nylon pantyhose. :)

Anyways, here's the look! Hope you like it! :)

The makeup might seem kind of boring in this look because I chose to do the pics in black and white but it's really my go to look at the moment. I've found that a smokey cat-eye is what suits my large eyes best.

Of course, this look is probably not suitable for everyday. ;) But it's a fun Halloween-look or something like that.

Black lips of course. ;) My hair really melts into the background.

And finally a closeup on the eye.

On Friday I am going to do the makeup for a Halloween monster-parade/fashion show, which will be completely awesome! :D I've been practicing a bit on the different looks I am going to do and here's one that I have come up with. Opinions please?

Should I make the "nose-hole" bigger? I really hope that I will be able to get some pictures on the different makeup looks from the show this time, but you know, working at a fashion show is really hectic. The flakey skin is made with 1 ply of toilet paper and Duo lash glue. Worked fine! :)

Anyway, happy Halloween everyone! :)

Thank you so much for reading and big hugs to all of you who take your time to write comments! I highly appreciate your thoughts and opinions!

The Sorting Hat says... Hufflepuff!

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks!

Finally - finally - I have managed to write this post which is the last in the Harry Potter House series. For some reason the color combo black and yellow was hard for me to work with. Yellow is a color that I like a lot but it makes me uncomfortable to wear yellow in public so I had to come up with some kind of discrete way of doing it. Haha, it's not really discrete at all when you think about it but the yellow is not as in your face as yellow usually tends to be.

This is definitely my favorite way of wearing yellow eyeshadow. In my crease I just put some neutral shadow to create some depth.

The brows are drawn on first with a hard, dark brown pencil and then set with Corrupt by Makeup Geek. :)

I laughed a while at the lock of hair that has managed to escape my hat but decided that the photo will have to do anyway.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Another makeup for school tutorial

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks!

Today I'm going to try on something that I usually don't do: a neutral, perfectly wearable (in the mainstream sense of the word) everyday makeup. :) Some people do fantastic wearable makeup looks, but I'm definitely NOT one of them. :P Maybe it's simply because I prefer more creative looks, even for everyday use.

Anyways, this look is actually very pretty irl, so if you ever feel like trying a softer, more subtle look you should definitely give it a go. :)

So, in my previous school makeup post I mentioned a few criteria that are important for school makeup. These are price, longevity and time.
For this look you need:

*Primer
*Darker brown eyeshadow
*Shimmery champagne or nude
*Dark brown eyeliner pencil
*Cream white eyeliner pencil
*Black mascara
*Foundation, concealer and powder (optional)

These are the brushes I have used:

*Sigma E70
*M.A.C. #266 which can be switched for Sigma E75
*e.l.f. Bamboo powder brush

Step 1. Prime your eyes. :)

Step 2. Apply Shimma shimma by Makeup Geek on your lid using the E70.

Step 3. Apply a rich, dark brown in the outer corner and drag the color into the crease (using the E70 again), wipe off the brush and blend.

Step 4. Apply a dark brown eyeliner on the lash line and use the E75 (Sigma) or #266 (M.A.C.) to smudge it out and create a baby wing. Also smudge the liner into the eyelashes to prevent any skin from showing through. Apply the cream white eyeliner to the lower waterline.

Step 5. Apply your base, then apply mascara and fill in/draw on your eyebrows using the angled brush. Finish by setting the makeup with a teeny tiny wash of powder.

Step 6. On my lips I used a nude lipgloss.

To spice up this look for a night out just add some black liquid eyeliner, a pair of falsies, and exchange the gloss for your favorite lipstick.

Personally I think this look is perfectly suitable for school as well. :)

Thank you for reading and hope to see you soon! :)
