Makeup Tip!

I recently discovered something amazing, that I just have to share with you (you probably already know it but some of you might not! :) ); Love+, Dollipop and Flamepoint makes excellent blushes!

Here, I've used Love+ on my cheeks. I think it looks lovely! This look was supposed to be made into a look post but my camera completely slaughtered the closeups. -->

Can you believe that the eyeshadow I actually used was Flamepoint? It is orange, not red! :O

Well, whatever! :) I have a surprise coming up for you soon, so be sure to drop by shortly! ;) Thank you for reading and have a lovely day!

Illmasqua Complement Palette

I've had this palette since September but haven't come to showing it to you guys yet. And I love it!

Swatches are made over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.

As you can see all of the shadows are super-pigmented, which is nothing less than I expected from Illamasqua. In my opinion this is the perfect palette for achieving a neutral goth-look (yes, there is actually such a thing ;) ).

Slink
This soft, shimmery champagne is a wonderful highlighting color for the inner corners or the cheekbones! It is perfect to combine with the darker shades in this palette for a more balanced look.

Focus
Focus a cool, metallic brown from Illamasqua's Liquid Metal range, which means it is a cream shadow (while all the other three shadows in this palette are powders).

Forgiveness
Matte, plumish brown. Great transition color when doing smokey eyes.

Queen of the night
Doesn't the name of this shadow say everything? It is a shimmery blackened plum which is perfect for smokey eyes!

Here's a more subtle goth-look I created with this palette.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day! :)

M.A.C Is Back (on my blog)

This has been on my mind for a long, long time now and I haven't really found a way to express it in words yet, because 1. I hate admitting I was wrong, 2. I feel kind of stupid having ranted about something before knowing all the facts and having investigated the situation from all perspectives.

You know I was rather disappointed at M.A.C when they launched their line in China, which meant that they weren't going to be cruelty-free anymore. But, having poked and prodded at the subject from all different angles I came to the conclusion that it is not at bad as it first sounded. It really is China that does the animal testing and not the companies who sell their products in Chinese stores. The companies does not think that animal testing is a good thing and despite what you may think they are still working towards animal testing. This conclusion I drew ages ago, but I just haven't told you about it because of the reasons I mentioned above.

"Launching in China shows that M.A.C (and other companies) place profit before morals!"

Sure, I can see your point, and as much as I respect it I don't agree with it. China has about 1.5 billion inhabitants and if you have a big company and want it to continue to expand it is not realistic to exclude the worlds largest country from your range of customers. The Chinese people (or at least their government) apparently don't have the same respect for animals as we do in our Western culture, but how is that ever going to change if we don't show them that our cosmetic products are perfectly safe without being tested on animals? I firmly believe that China will give up their policy in this matter in time and I know that M.A.C and other companies are urging them to do so. Therefore I have no problem with M.A.C's decision to sell their products in China anymore. You may not agree, and that's fine, but please respect my opinion (or change of opinion in this matter). I don't ask you to agree with me, or don't wish to go into any debates on this subject. This is simply intended as an explanation on how I feel and think about the subject, nothing else.

Intergalactic Discotheque

First of all, THANK YOU everyone who posted your blog/instagram-adresses in response to my previous post! :) I'm so looking forward to browse through them all! :D

Lately, I haven't been very inspired to do blogging because it feels like my camera is insufficient and doesn't meet my requirements. Doing the makeup is fun but taking the photos is just terrible and I have to do a lot of editing to compensate for the camera's mistakes. Ugh, I hate photoshopping... I know I always complain about this but right now it's really bad. New camera and better lights for my "studio" is needed pronto...

Let's jump to the look... :)

Birthstone: Yellow Topaz

It's kind of scary that I have only two (now one...) birthstone looks left. Didn't I just start this series? Apparently, it has been almost a year. I can't believe how fast time has passed!

Well, before nostalgia grabs us too hard we might as well continue to the look. :) The birthstone for November is, as you might have guessed from the title, yellow topaz. And what better way to capture this gem stone with a makeup look than to combine yellow eyeshadow and golden liner?

I dusted the golden eyeshadow (Honey pot by Too Faced) on top of the whole thing as a last finish but unfortunately the camera didn't really pick it up. Instead you might distinguish some kind of dirty, yellow "glow". Well, now you know where that comes from...

As I've mentioned before, I hate the lack of daylight during the Swedish winter season. Almost all of my pictures were f*cked up because of that, hence this picture deprived post. -___-

So that's that for now! :) If anyone is wondering what I've been up to lately, since it's been so quiet around here, I can tell you I've been in Stockholm for almost a week doing a basic training course with work, that I will tell you more about soon. I've had a fabulous week and met so much awesome people that I'm going to miss a lot now that I'm home again.

Thanks a lot for reading this post and hope you liked the look!
