Illmasqua Complement Palette

I've had this palette since September but haven't come to showing it to you guys yet. And I love it!

Swatches are made over NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk.

As you can see all of the shadows are super-pigmented, which is nothing less than I expected from Illamasqua. In my opinion this is the perfect palette for achieving a neutral goth-look (yes, there is actually such a thing ;) ).

Slink
This soft, shimmery champagne is a wonderful highlighting color for the inner corners or the cheekbones! It is perfect to combine with the darker shades in this palette for a more balanced look.

Focus
Focus a cool, metallic brown from Illamasqua's Liquid Metal range, which means it is a cream shadow (while all the other three shadows in this palette are powders).

Forgiveness
Matte, plumish brown. Great transition color when doing smokey eyes.

Queen of the night
Doesn't the name of this shadow say everything? It is a shimmery blackened plum which is perfect for smokey eyes!

Here's a more subtle goth-look I created with this palette.

Thanks for reading and have a lovely day! :)

Terracotta - A Gothic Fall Look

This beauty from the Nomad collection by Make Up Store is simply irresistible. Since I didn't have an eyeshadow in this color I just had to buy it. The shimmery terracotta  shade is perfect for bringing out blue eyes and combining it with a light shimmery gold creates a colorful look for us who are longing for autumn's arrival. :)

The swatch to the left is on bare skin and the one to the right on top of NYX Milk. You can see it is extremely pigmented.

Always when I find eyeshadows with bright colors, like this one, I try to come up with ways of using them in looks that are still suitable for us who loves darker shades. Here's a tip how to use this one!

Step 1. Begin with priming your eyes with your favorite primer. Then, apply a white base all over your lid, but don't take it too far above the crease.

Step 2. With a stiff, flat brush pick up some yellow-based golden eyeshadow and pat it gently onto the inner corners of your eyes. I couldn't find my Goldilux so I used a mixture of Buttercupcake (Sugarpill) and Honeypot (Too Faced)  to achieve the right shade.

Step 3. Time for this post's special guest star! Apply Terracotta on the middle of your upper and lower lid and blend it into the gold. It is not that important to blend the outer part right now so leave it be until next step.

Step 4. In the outer corner, apply Burlesque by Makeup Geek (or similar color). Smoke it out with a clean blending brush and finish by blending a little more of Terracotta into the upper, outer part. This will add a little more warmth to the look and contribute to the autumn-ish glow.

Step 5. Now on with the darkness! Apply a black eyeshadow lightly in the outer corner and drag it along the crease to the inner corner of your eye. Blend, blend and blend a little more! Repeat until you've gotten the desired darkness.

Step 6. Line your eyes with a black eyeliner pencil and then trace the upper lash line with black liner or eyeshadow.

Step 7. Finish off the eye makeup with two coats of black mascara and a pair of corner lashes. :)

This look is best gothed up with a dark, wine-red lip. Here, I've used a dark plum lip liner and on top of that Glamour 101 by Lime Crime. :) The lipliner I used here was Jazz by Make Up Store which is unfortunately discontinued. I will make a post with possible dupes later.

Thanks for reading! Have a lovely day! :)

Inglot Eyeshadows Swatches

This past week I've been working a lot which has meant a lot less time for blogging. And honestly, I haven't really felt like doing a review or anything, and this will not be a review either, and I did not have any un-posted looks in stash for you. That's why it has been so very quiet here this past week.

Now, here's the swatches of my Inglot eyeshadows. :)

Swatches on bare skin.

Swatches over Nyx Jumbo Pencil in Milk

These eyeshadows are amazing. All of them, except the black one, which is a dark grey rather than a black, are highly pigmented very easy to work with. It is hard not to love them. :)

Have you tried out any of the eyeshadows from Inglot? Do you like them?

Coming up as soon as I get my thumb out of you-know-where I will do a Rammstein-inspired look requested by my dear reader Poisoned Purple. :)

Thanks for reading!

Isadora Eyephoria Eyeshadow

About a week ago Isadora launched a new eyeshadow collection called Eyephoria, which consists of 8 highly pigmented shades bursting with shimmery sparkles. The formula is both a powder and emulsion at the same time, which makes the eyeshadow ideal for both wet and dry usage.

Left: Dry on bare skin, Right: Wet on bare skin

Chrome is a greenish, greyish taupeish color that is pretty hard to define. It will definitely suit all eyecolors very well and the shimmery finish is adorable!
When I did the wet swatch, though, I was afraid that I had destroyed the eyeshadow, because the surface looked "melted" afterwards. Later, I found out that so is not the case, since the "melted" layer disappeared when I continued to use the eyeshadow.

Disadvantages: Creased a bit (despite primer...) and caused some fallout during the day.

Pigmentation: 5/5
Longevity: 3/5
Quality: 4/5
Price: 119 SEK
Worth it? Definitely!

Would you like to try this eyeshadow? Have you tried any other Isadora products that you like?

I have collected several nail-polishes that I would love to show you but my dry and brittle nails are currently under restoration so that will have to wait.

Too Faced Natural Eye Eyeshadow Collection

Since I don't feel like being very creative or put on too much makeup in the morning I usually end up doing some natural makeup looks, which are appropriate for work. I figured I needed some new natural eyeshadows and decided to order the Natural Eye Eyeshadow Collection by Too Faced. Although I've been drooling over Too Faced ever since I heard of the brand (that was several years ago!) I have never owned any of their products, so I found this a very good opportunity to change that! :)

The packaging is so cute I can't even find the words for it! :D It's pretty in an elegant way. I LOVE it!
Similar to the Sugarpill Palettes, this one is also made of sturdy cardboard and closed with a strong magnet. Inside the palette the shadows are arranged in three rows, each row corresponding to a special look (Day, Classic and Fashion). To know how to create each of these looks you can use the "tutorial cards" found in the lid. :)

Let's move on to the swatches! As usual the swatch to the LEFT is on top of NYX Jumbo Pencil in Milk and the one to the RIGHT is on bare skin.

Heaven is probably going to be my substitute for M.A.C.'s Blanc Type. It is matte and pretty much the same color as my skin, only a little more yellow toned. Great for highlighting underneath the brows!
Grade: 3/5

Velvet Revolver was the reason I bought this palette. It is supposed to be a dupe for Omega by M.A.C. and, thus, works perfectly when filling in fair brows. Matte and highly pigmented!
Grade: 4/5

Sexpresso (don't you just love the dirty names Too Faced tends to put on their products? :P ) is a dark, cold-toned brown, which is also one of the mattes in this palette. It is ridiculously pigmented and an eyeshadow that can be used in multiple ways!
Grade: 5/5

Silk Teddy is a shimmery, pinkish toned cuteness that won my heart in a couple of seconds. Highly pigmented and just awesome.
Grade: 5/5

When it comes to Push-Up I can't quite decide what color it is. Copper? Peach? Pink? I guess it's a mixture and along with Sexpresso is a clear favorite of this palette. It is definitely the most pigmented of the lot; both of these swatches are made with only one layer of this eyeshadow!
Grade: 5/5

Erotica could have been a big YES if it hadn't been for the poor pigmentation. Honestly, it is supposed to be dark brown with a golden sheen but on bare skin (right) it just looks like someone was going to apply it but then changed their mind... NYX Milk does save it however so it is not a complete disappointment.
Grade: 2.5/5

Now, the big disappointment of this palette is Nude beach. It looks so alluring in the packaging but when you try to apply it it won't stick. The big, golden chunks of glitter fall off faster than you can say "major fail" and not even NYX Milk manages to save it.
Grade: 1/5

Honey Pot is definitely one of the gems in this collection! It is an amber shimmery treasure that definitely delivers quality. Yummy!
Grade: 5/5

Cocoa Puff is a warm brown with golden flecks in it. The color is rather boring, in my opinion, but never the less it is a very good eyeshadow. The glitter sticks even on bare skin and promises not to join the glitter from Nude Beach to go off to Neverland...
Grade: 3.5/5

Overall grade:

In case anyone wants to see the tutorial cards; do not despair! I intend to recreate the looks on the cards so you will see them then. :)

So what are your opinions on this product? I can imagine many of you find these colors rather boring. :)
