Burning Night Sky

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks!

The look of today is another one where I use a black gel liner as a base; this time underneath a shimmery, navy blue eyeshadow.
The blue eyeshadow I'm using today is Deep truth by M.A.C. and I am heartbroken that it isn't cruelty-free anymore. :( Does anyone know any good, cruelty-free dupes?

I'm not sure what inspired me to this look but when I did it I thought a bit of oil burning on water against a dark sky. :)

I liked the result a lot. It's very dramatic, colorful and dark in the same time. What more could you ask for? :)

The black gel liner base helps the blue in Deep truth stand out more, if that makes sense. I'm definitely going to try this technique with Makeup Geek's Envy which is a dark green.

I kept the area underneath the eye simple and added only the red shadow there. And of course a lot of black mascara! :) At the moment I'm using a build up mascara by Isadora.

I had a hard time figuring out what kind of lip color would look best with this eye makeup look and I came up with a few alternatives. I considered doing a bold red lip but in the end I chickened out and used my favorite nude shade, Darling by Makeup Geek. I wore this look for a dinner with some friends and I figured it would look better with a nude lipstick.

I'm still preparing the photo editing post because it's going to be at least 30 feet long... :P Just kidding. It will be done soon. :) I'm also planning on doing the Hufflepuff look, this week, thus completing my Harry Potter series.

Thanks to all of you for taking your time reading my posts and for commenting and subscribing! <3

It does actually look like your eyes are burning embers-- it's a very sultry look.

    1. Thank you so much! ^_^ I had to work with a miniature brush to get it right.

  3. Inglot 428P & the dark blue shade from the Wet n Wild Blue Had Me at Hello palette are pretty good dupes for Deep Truth. :)

    1. Oh, thank you! :) We don't have Inglot here in Sweden though, but I will have to look for it next time I go abroad. :)

  4. I like that you switched it up and went with a blue instead of doing purple like every other girl on the planet, lol. It looks really nice, I like it a lot.

    1. Haha, thanks! ^_^ I know what you mean; there are so many people who have done a look with the entire Burning Heart palette which is of course a great idea but by now it's starting to get a little bit too common.
