Isadora Moisturizing Lipgloss

Something that I don't use that much and that therefore has been strangely absent in my makeup collection is lipgloss. Recently I have found a certain affection for glossy lips and decided to upgrade my lipgloss-collection a bit with two new glosses.

The ones I got are both by Isadora and both very vivid colors; Tropical Pink and Diva Red.

Tropical Pink is a bright, hot pink attention-seeker that would make Hello Kitty squeal out of happiness. Even though I don't follow mainstream fashion (and no alternative fashion trends either for that matter...) it hasn't escaped me that this color is the shit this spring. Well, who am I to disagree?

Pigmentation: 4/5
Longevity: 3/5
Price: 99 SEK
Buy again? Sure, why not!

While Tropical Pink is a peppy spring color Diva Red is a sultry, glamourous winter red. This color is just fabulous! :) It is a little bit too sticky to be my dreams-come-true lip product, but the color, did I mention the gorgeous color?

Pigmentation: 4/5
Longevity: 4/5
Price: 99 SEK
Buy again? Yup!

What brand is your go-to-brand when shopping for lipgloss? Do you always buy the same color or are you brave and try something new occasionally? :)

Cobalt and Chrome

My eyes have been irritated as hell these past four or so days so I haven't been able to do the requested Tarja Turunen-look that I had planned to post this weekend. :( I'm sorry for that but I promise that this look will be top priority when my eyes decides that they want to wear makeup again!

Here comes a look that I did last weekend, using the Eyephoria Chrome eyeshadow by Isadora. I hope you'll like it!

I realize this look is far from unique, but I do like the combination of a metallic eyeshadow on the upper lid and cobalt blue on the lower. Besides, Velocity by Sugarpill is an eyeshadow I use far too seldom!

These pictures are taken in direct sunlight so Chrome looks a little bit more golden than it really is.

Warm-toned blush and nude lips matches this eye look perfectly!

Eyebrow news!

Those of you who follow me on Twitter already now that I have been tempted to grow back my eyebrows. I assure you, it has nothing to do with the no-eyebrows-bullying that has been going on every time Sugarpill posts one of my looks at their Facebook page. Frankly, what those narrow-minded people think doesn't affect me at all.

A while ago, I attended an education session on the brand Anastasia Beverly Hills which is famous for their greater than great eyebrow products. I got very inspired by this, and became very tempted to let my eyebrows grow out again, so that I can try out their products properly. And why not give it a try? After all, if I don't want the eyebrows anymore it takes about half a minute shaving them off again. ;)

Birthstones: Aquamarine

Sorry for the lack of posts here this past week. It was supposed to be my last job at my trainee job and I was kind of depressed because I really enjoy working there and I didn't want to quit. Then, the last day, I managed to convince the employment agency to let me work for another month. :)

As you will also see I have begun to grow my eyebrows back, but there will be a separate post on this subject soon.

Well, anyway, here is a look that breathes of spring, inspired by March's own birthstone; the aquamarine.

Intending to create something aquatic I played around a bit with Lumi by Sugarpill, and this was the result. I really like how colors like these bring out a teal color in my eyes.

It is very hard to capture the sheer and delicate Lumi in a way that will do it justice. Over NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk it will take the form of a light turquoise and over Black bean as a deeper teal shimmer. I tried to experiment with blur in my pics to get the shimmer to show up but it didn't want to.

For both blush and lips I decided to use cool toned colors. I also painted on a beauty mark and dabbed some Lumi over it to give the look kind of a vintage mermaid feel to it. :) What do you think?

Furthermore, I have been "upgraded" at work. It has been discovered that I have somewhat of a talent for selling stuff (read: makeup) so I got to sell one of the more exclusive brands, which is great. :) It's really fun to sell luxury makeup and skin care!

Anyways, I have some posts planned for this week so I hope I will be able to keep you entertained! I am also planning to do a requested look (Tarja Turunen at Hartwall arena) that will probably be posted next weekend.

Thank you so much for reading and hope to see you soon!

Depend Eye Makeup Remover Pads

Depend usually is a decent brand that, despite its low price tag, manages to deliver reasonable quality. When I saw this product - 80 makeup remover pads that are supposed to gently remove all kinds of makeup - I just had to try them.
Right now, I'm using the waterproof makeup remover by Kryolan which, as all waterproof makeup removers do, contains oil. Oil can be a bit harsh on sensitive eyes and my eyes are very sensitive at the verge of spring, at the kick-off of the pollen season. Hence, I eagerly bought these pads from Depend which are oil-free and promises a merciful treatment of the eye area. Boy, was I mistaken...

These "gentle" pads are thin and the heavily textured surface feels like sand paper on the skin. The removing ability is also highly doubtful. It doesn't even remove the True Natural mascara by Lumene, which is very - very - easy to remove only with water and a tiny drop of regular soap or shower gel. Bad!

So, I thought, it can't remove my eye makeup properly, maybe it can still be of use when I want to clean my lips? No. No! NO! Sure, it removes the lipstick after some fierce rubbing but lips are left dry as a desert.

Recommended for: Anyone who wants a really sucky product...
Price: 35 SEK/ 80 pads
Buy again? Not even if all other makeup removers in the world were gone

Seriously, don't waste your money on this! Or have anyone else had any positive experience with this product?
