Everyday look: Classic

Very well, here comes the second of the looks created out of the "tutorial cards" (or whatever you want to call them...) that comes with the Too Faced Natural eye palette.

It is kind of a nice look although I think it is a bit too shimmery for my taste. To make this look a little more dramatic I added some black eyeliner, which was not in the instructions. I thought I would hate to apply a shimmery eyeshadow all the way up to my brows so I felt very brave trying this look out. It doesn't look as tacky as I had expected, though, and I kind of like the result.

Looks in this kind of color scheme makes blue eyes really pop. Push-Up is such a delicious color but it's a real bummer that Erotica barely shows up at all in the crease.

Glossy red lips is something that starts to become a regular part of my everyday looks. I imagine that bright red gloss makes my lips look fuller but that might be something that is merely just that - imagination. I don't know. I like it anyway. :)

By the way... I have a BIG problem with my foundation (the Illamasqua Skin Base) at the moment. My skin and my foundation have decided that they will not talk to each other anymore which results in my skin becoming extremely oily and gross. It's terrible! The only thing I can do is to skip the foundation and just use a face primer or nothing at all on my face during the day. :(

Anyways, thank you for reading! :)

Goth in school

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

As promised I will do some back-to-school looks, among which most of them will be very suitable for goths. The first one focuses on a strong eye and neutral lip.
I know that not all school allows strong makeup-looks but you can always tone it down, making it less noticeable. Where I live you can wear (almost) whatever you like but I understand that not all countries and all schools have the same rules. So if you will get in trouble at school for wearing such dark makeup, then don't! A little eyeliner might be effective enough in those cases. :)

Most goths (I was going to say "all goths" but there're always exceptions) love dark smokey eyes. But dark smokey eyes - particularly black ones - can be time consuming to do. There are, however, some tips and tricks you can use to easier achieve this classic look.

Haha, I'm really making the grumpy-face on that picture. :P

So, what's important about makeup for school?
*Price - students usually don't have a lot of money.
*Longevity - you want your makeup to last all day without smudging, creasing and getting ugly.
*Time - you probably don't want to spend too much time on your makeup in the morning. :)

The makeup look we're going to do now will include all these factors. :)

Step 1. To increase the longevity of your makeup it is important to prime your eyes. A cheap and good primer is the Eyelid primer by e.l.f. which can be bought here.

Step 2. Line your water line and the outer part of the upper lash line with a black kohl eyeliner pencil dipped in black gel eyeliner. This is to help the liner stay incredibly black longer. Now, I don't know any good, cruelty-free gel eyeliners since Blacktrack by M.A.C. apparently isn't cruelty-free anymore. Any suggestions?
Smudge it out using a Q-tip or a clean finger. Starting at the lower lid, use your ringfinger to drag the eyeliner into a winged shape. If you want to do this with a brush you can use for instance the Sigma E65. I did. ;)

Step 3. For this step I used the E70 brush from Sigma. The reason I did this is because I wanted to use a brush that can both act as a blending brush and a shading brush, thus spending less money on different kinds of brushes. :) Another good thing with this brush is that it blends the eyeshadow in the same time that it's applying it so you won't have to blend that much afterwards, which is very time effective.
Apply a shimmery, greyish brown eyeshadow on the lid and into the crease. I'm using Moondust by Makeup Geek.

Step 4. Continue applying Moondust, wipe off your brush and blend.

Step 5. On the tip of your E70, pick up some black eyeshadow and apply it in the outer corner of your eye, along the lash line. Also drag it into the crease. The black I'm using is Corrupt by Makeup Geek.

Step 6. Apply your base and your eyebrows. I have drawn my on with a waterproof gel liner, but I can strongly recommend the Aquacolors by Kryolan. Using them with Kryolan's sealer will make them waterproof as well and you have so, so many colors to choose from. :)

Then, I highlighted my browbone and inner corner with White lies by Makeup Geek.

Apply some mascara and your ready to go. :)

Hope you found this tutorial helpful! :) I feel this post got a little bit confusing and long so if you're wondering about something just ask.

A big hug to you all for reading my blog, subscribing and commenting! :D Thank you!
