Carnal Instinct

When I heard about the Magnetic nude collection by MAC I wasn't too excited. As I told you in a recent post I'm not to big a fan of nude looks and when I hear the word "nude" I always think of concealer-style lipsticks á la Maria Montazami, which, of course, can look great on others but don't really rock my socks. Then I saw this beautiful red lipstick in the collection and suddenly it seemed  a lot more interesting.

 I'm so, so sad to tell you that this will probably be one of the last lip swatches with my labret piercing.  :( It had started to gnaw off pieces of my teeth so I had to take it out. :( As melodramatic as it might sound, it feels like a part of me is missing.

Futuristic Vampire

So here's the result of yesterday's playing around with makeup. Blue and red is quite an unusual color combination and they sure make an interesting couple. Why is it so hard to find a good, red eyeliner btw? I got tired of looking so I made my own out of Sugarpill's Love+ eyeshadow and Illamasqua's sealing gel. Two coats of it and you have the perfect opaque eyeliner. :)

Naked Goth (Not as naughty as it sounds)

Hey there! :D

After the third round of eye problems I feel better and can finally wear makeup again. I'm itching to start experimenting with different looks and bold colors again but today we had glossy-skin-nude-look theme day at work so I couldn't go too crazy this time. While I like the nude look on other people I hate to wear it myself. It makes me feel naked (which, I suppose, is the point...) and ugly and to be perfectly honest sometimes makes me feel a bit insecure. So I decided to combine it with a black lip, and voilá, the naked goth look.

If I don't feel to damn lazy tomorrow I will do a colorful, crazy look for you. Currently, I'm thinking about different colors to combine to get unusual but in the same time interesting looks. Any suggestions? :)

Viva Glam Collection

With the new Riri Viva Glam lipstick coming up and all, I thought I'd share with you my Viva Glam collection this far.

Viva Glam I

This is the original Viva Glam lipstick first launched in 1994 and represented by RuPaul. I can honestly say that this is my favorite red lipstick in the world. It is a deeper, more musty red tone that will suit practically everyone, so if you're having trouble finding the perfect red lipstick it might be a good idea to check this baby out. :)

Viva Glam II

Viva Glam II with lip pencil Plum. 

This is a special kind of nude tone that, to be honest doesn't look too exciting at the first glance. When combined with the lip pencil Plum, though, you get quite a gothy nude look on your lips. :)

Viva Glam III

This is the darkest and gothiest shade in the Viva Glam range. Excuse the strange lip shape! I tried to do some kind of modern 20's style lip, which turned out to look better in my mind than in the real world...

Okey, so this color is just hideous! (on me at least, it looks great of Nicki Minaj) And I you all know how much I LOVE ugly things. :) It's definitely not my color, but I got the idea from Maria at mroxx.se
to use it with the lip pencil Nightmoth, which creates the most beautiful purple ombré (god I hate that word *shudders*) lip. Isn't that something? :D Oooh, now I got the idea to line the lips with a blue pencil instead of a purple. Have to try that some time! *brainstorm*

Burning Lips

My eye is bugging me again so I've been kept from blogging again. Or actually, kept from doing eye looks. Then I thought, what the hell, why don't make posts about lip stuff instead? :D So this week will be all about lips!

So today I was playing around with my Burning Heart palette from Sugarpill turning the eyeshadows into lipsticks. ^_^

First, I primed my lips swiped a thin coat of concealer on top to mask my own lipcolor. Then I packed on the eyeshadow dry (why I didn't think of using Illamasqua's Sealing Gel is a big mystery...). And last but not least I scraped out a bit of eyeshadow onto the back of my hand and mixed it with MAC's Lipglass (the clear one, in the tube...).

NOTE: I'm not sure if these eyeshadows are lip safe or not. If you plan on using them on your lips it might be a good idea to send Amy an e-mail and ask her about it. :)

Flamepoint, Love+ and Poison Plum aren't very weird lip colors but what about Buttercupcake? Would you buy a yellow lipstick if you found one in a store?

Bat Fit: Goals for 2014

This year I've decided to participate in Bat Fit which is a blogging event to motivate a healthier lifestyle, created by The Professor. All the details you can find on her blog, so make sure to pay her a visit! :)

1. Eat less sugar! 
At the moment I'm so addicted to sugar that I get a headache when I don't get to eat cookies or candy every day. This has been going on for quite a while now and gotten to a point where I can feel that it's bad for my health. I feel contaminated, and to cut down on the sugar will probably be the best way to detoxify.


2. Adopt a vegan lifestyle
Mostly because I've realized that animals kept for producing these products are treated very, very badly but also because milk is not part of a healthy lifestyle. At least that's true for me. :)


3. Start exercising 
I love exercising, but I haven't done it in a couple of years. So it's definitely about time to get started! Today I bought an app for my iPhone, The Walk, which is hopefully going to motivate me to get some exercise!


4. Detoxify my mind with meditation
When I was younger I meditated every day, but now I rarely find the motivation to just sit down and let go of all thoughts.


5. Save money for a new camera
For a long time now I've felt that my camera is not sufficient to cover my needs. So I've decided to save up for a new one! :) It will take time, I will not be able to buy as much makeup as I currently do, but in the end it will be so worth it.
