Ravenclaw

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

Today I was browsing through the unedited, old pictures in my camera and found a look that I decided to do something about. I've wanted to do a series of looks inspired by the Hogwarts houses for a long time now - or a remake actually since I did such a thing about a year ago, when I was pretty inexperienced in the art of makeup. :) So, the look I found today would be very suitable for for the house of Ravenclaw. :)

If you want to find out which house you're in you should do this House Sorting Test which is time consuming but fun. :) I've done it a several times but I always get the same answer; GRYFFINDOR!
I like Gryffindor so that's okay with me.

The utterly pretty golden bronze color I've used at the outer corner and on my waterline is Glamorous by Makeup Geek.

I miss my septum piercing sooo much! :( For those of you who don't know I had to take it away because it got skew and no matter how much love I showed it it just wouldn't straighten up. The good thing about it is that I can redo it for free (my piercing studio is amazing!) and I have about two weeks left on the healing time. Yay! :D

This eye makeup is pretty combined with a glowing red lip and cute rosy blush on the cheeks. :)

Just for fun I'm going to show you the Ravenclaw look I did last year. ;)

I sure have progressed a lot since then both in makeup- and photography skills. :)

Last but not least, I have a question for you guys: What is, in your opinion, the most important thing about makeup for school?

It would be interesting to hear your thoughts on this. :) As you might guess, I'm planning on doing a/a couple of school makeup looks.

Thank you so much for reading and hope to see you again soon! :)

One night in Gotham

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks!

A couple of days ago I went to the cinema to see the new Batman movie. I'm not very surprised that it was a fantastic movie but it was far better than I could have imagined! It's full of action and great characters that are portrayed by brilliant actors and actresses.

I've been looking forward to this movie a long time so I wanted to do a special makeup-look for this occasion. :) So I came up with a dark cat eye with a pattern, that is inspired by a look by this amazing makeup-artist: http://nireyna.livejournal.com/
Unfortunately, her blog is in Russian (I think...) which made it hard for me to find the specific look that I was inspired by.

To fade out the black smokey eye and add some subtle shimmer I used the grayish brown eyeshadow Moondust by Makeup Geek. It's a perfect background for the forestlike pattern. :)

To achieve the sharp wings I used Scotch tape, which I first placed on the back of my hand to reduce the stickiness.

I admit that the teal liner on the inner part of the lid wasn't the best idea, but I don't think it's super-horrible either. Next time, I'll definitely skip it though.

If you don't have the patience to draw this pattern then you can simply use this look without it as a regular winged smokey eye. :)

Dream country

Hello makeup-lovers and fellow spooks! :)

Lately, I've been full of inspiration, especially inspiration for doing colorful looks. And today I'll show you one of them :)

I think I have an obsession about the combination of teal and purple. Here I've combined them with green, chartreuse and yellow so that it almost becomes a rainbow-look.

This is what happens when Madam Noire goes crazy with color. :P I kind of like it though... Sometimes it's fun to just experiment and see what happens. :)

Unfortunately you can't see the shift of green to blue that well on the lid. I put Sea mist in the outer part of the lid and Poolside on the inner part (both by Makeup Geek.)

On my lips I wear Darling by Makeup Geek. I realize I use this lipstick very often nowadays, and that might be a little boring, but it's such a nice shade and it's perfect for hot summer days when the last thing you want to worry about is a dark lipstick smudging.
